SPF – "Something in your Home"

Kristine gave us an easy one this week since she’s been so busy in sin city and all. I just decided to use this as an opportunity to mention the Freedom Walk one more time.

Something in my home: I used this photo back in October for “something pink” for Breast Cancer Awareness. This my friends is a photo of equipment needed for a special needs child. AFOs* of which we have 3 sets/sizes now, and Jenelle’s crash helmet so she doesn’t split her head open when she has a drop seizure. Who says having a disability means you can’t be fashionable? ;)

So did you play? Let me know and don’t forget to visit Kristine!

Happy Friday!

p.s. – Jenelle’s Avocados is only $68 away from taking over 3rd place! now in SECOND PLACE! WOO HOO! Please help us out if you have the means for a donation! Thanks!

*ankle foot orthotics – which unfortunately can’t be re-used by anyone else and cost $2,000 a pop And that $2,000 doesn’t include the very fashionable pink shoes to go with!

TO Kami & Others from Dallas & Sunday Six Questions

I saw this news article about the severe storms in central Texas – STAY SAFE GIRLS! I’m thinking of you!

~~~~~
As I’m in a frenzy trying to work and get things done for Freedom Walk, I doubt I’ll post much tomorrow. Here are the questions for Sunday Six – theme “Fundraising!” ;)
1. What is a fundraiser?
2. Why do we raise money for charity?
3. Where does all that money go?
4. What charity do you think deserves the most money?
5. What is “fun” about fundraising?
6. What are some other things you can do to help support others & charities in need?
See you Sunday!
Wild Card Wednesday! – "Freedom Walk!"
The Freedom Walk is this Saturday, and I am frantically trying to finalize things for the planning committee, and work at the same time! Ugh! Anyway, I didn’t want to miss the opportunity to get more bonus points for another “W” in TKW’s Wild Card Wednesday to show off our “15 minutes of Fame”!
These photos were taken by photographer Miguel Vasconcellos of the Tustin News for an article that has appeared on-line in our local news about Jenelle and the Freedom Walk. Gosh I wish I’d had my roots done if I had known these photos would have been in color! And Jack is SUCH a ham! Oh well – enjoy!
Please join us at Jenelle’s Journey today
to celebrate “Blogging Against Disablism Day 2007!”
I was writing my piece until midnight last night – too busy these days to think. I’m still not very happy with it, there was so much more I wanted to say there. Anyway, I’m so tired, I just can’t think of anything else to say here today. Enjoy!
Why I don’t work at Petsmart.
So, I tried to save a few bucks and shave the dog myself. Poor Cooper – he’s never looked so bad. Now I need to get him into Petsmart this week to fix this thing.
Don’t mean to scare you, but we actually played this week! WOO HOO! Here are Jack’s answers. Jack is 6.4.
I don’t get it. Spoon, Pole and Fill! (this after me telling him to just give me words that start with SPF. LOL)
2. What is your stuff?
My stuff are the things in my room, my light saber which isn’t in my room right now, and uh, I don’t good.
3. What does anniversary mean?
Anniversary means when like you see someone in trouble and you like do something to help them when they are all alone.
4. How do we celebrate anniversaries?
By um, saying prayers and showing God that we love his world.
Stuff Portrait Friday – "SPF turns 2!" & Sunday Six Questions!
How could I miss the second anniversary of SPF? Seriously! Well, to celebrate Stuff Portrait Friday’s second birthday, Kristine has asked that we repeat the first SPF assignment by showing our fridge, showing ourselves, and incorporating the number 2 in it! As Jack was the only available photographer at the time, I thought it best to just go with him in the photo – and I was oh so lucky his number in Little League is “2“!
Here is Jack in our garage refrigerator that holds mostly beverages! LOL
Happy Anniversary SPF and Happy Friday!
In honor of SPF’s 2nd anniversary – let’s use that as a theme this week for Sunday Six!
1. What does SPF stand for?
2. What is your stuff?
3. What does anniversary mean?
4. How do we celebrate anniversaries?
5. Did you celebrate SPF’s 2nd anniversary?
6. Say something nice to Kristine & Shaun!
See you Sunday!
Wild Card Wednesday – "New Wheels!"
Wednesday is now Wild Card Wednesday – to play see The Kept Woman for details.
I was really going to skip it this week, being sick and all, but then I realized I had a really great “W” for this week… Jenelle’s new WHEELS! We got her new stroller today and it is da bomb! It folds really compact, and it is about 20 pounds lighter than her regular wheel chair. Lovely purple too.
Funny thing, I put this thing in her room and whipped out the camera and Jenelle got all giggly after I snapped the first shot! It was hysterical – she kept giggling and hiding her face! What a ham – just like her brother! I finally had to resort and strap her in the thing to get a decent photo.
And here she is showing you that yes, she love having her photo taken!
And this tag makes me laugh. It says “Crash Tested” and automatically I think “Kid tested, Mother approved!” LOL
Happy Wednesday!
There is nothing worse than…
a splitting sinus head ache, weird NyQuil dreams… and your neighbor deciding that today is the day they are going to trim their trees… with a chainsaw.
Freaky!
